The promotions of the Canton in order to encourage the use of the two wheels and to discover the natural paradises of Ticino with the "FFS".
The first promotion is "the annual subscription bicycle", that it allows to acquire the ticket of transport at the price of CHF 95 - with a saving of CHF 100.- instead of the entire price that would be CHF 195.-. The initiative - managed in collaboration with the tariff community Ticino and Moesano - is turned to possessors of an annual subscription "Arcobaleno" or a general subscription of the FFS and is obtainable at the Arcobaleno and the tariff community.
For those who prefer not to take the annual subscription, but use tickets of smaller duration, can buy the day ticket at all booking offices of the FFS or the vending machines. The expense is contained since as the transport of bicycles on the train costs CHF 5.- for adults and possessors of a half-price subscription FFS and CHF 3.- for younger.
Moreover this year it will be offered a special arranged ticket, valid for a journey there and back between Giubiasco - Rivera-Bironico, with the bicycles; the prices are: CHF 5.- for adults and CHF 3.- for younger and possessors of a half-price subscription. With the ticket "Ceneri bici" - the name of it - only buyable at the vending machines of the Canton, the Monte Ceneri won't be anymore an obstacle for the two wheels. Therefore the bike tracks can be discovered following magnificent routes with a tightened contact to the nature.
It has to pay some attention in the choice of the trains, because only a few of them allow the transport of the bicycles. The FFS advise therefore to consult the exposed official timetable and the yellow tables of departures or to look out for the blue notice with the composition of the trains.
